Yn Ysgol Cae Top, rydyn ni wedi llunio cwricwlwm sy’n rhoi cyfle i bob plentyn archwilio, darganfod a thyfu. Rydyn ni’n dilyn Cwricwlwm i Gymru, sy’n seiliedig ar chwe Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad:

• Ieithoedd, Llythrennedd a Chyfathrebu

• Mathemateg a Rhifedd

• Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg

• Dyniaethau

• Iechyd a Lles

• Celfyddydau Mynegiannol

Yn hytrach na dysgu pynciau ar wahân, rydyn ni’n aml yn eu cyfuno drwy themâu a phrosiectau cyffrous sy’n helpu plant i wneud cysylltiadau a deall y darlun cyfan. Mae’r pynciau hyn yn cynnwys enghreifftiau fel Cestyll a Dreigiau, 1500 mlwyddiant Bangor, neu Sut i ofalu am ein byd. Rydyn ni’n ceisio gwneud dysgu’n berthnasol ac ymgysylltiol, ac yn rhoi lle i’r disgyblion ddylanwadu ar yr hyn maen nhw’n ei ddysgu.

Rydyn ni hefyd yn rhoi sylw penodol i dair sgil trawsgwricwlaidd sy’n rhedeg drwy bopeth:

• Llythrennedd

• Rhifedd

• Cymhwysedd digidol

Mae’r sgiliau hyn yn cael eu hymarfer mewn amrywiaeth o wersi ac mae disgyblion yn dysgu sut i’w defnyddio’n hyderus mewn gwahanol sefyllfaoedd.

Mae ein cwricwlwm yn parhau i ddatblygu — gan ymateb i’r plant, y byd o’u cwmpas, a’r gymuned rydyn ni’n rhan ohoni.

At Ysgol Cae Top, we’ve designed a curriculum that gives every child the chance to explore, discover and grow. We follow the Curriculum for Wales, which is built around six Areas of Learning and Experience:

• Languages, Literacy and Communication

• Mathematics and Numeracy

• Science and Technology

• Humanities

• Health and Well-being

• Expressive Arts

Rather than teaching subjects in isolation, we often bring them together through exciting themes and projects that help children make connections and see the bigger picture. These topics might include things like Castles and Dragons, Bangor’s 1500th anniversary, or Looking After Our World. We always look for ways to make learning relevant and engaging, and we involve pupils in shaping what they want to learn too.

We also focus on three important skills that thread through everything we do:

• Literacy

• Numeracy

• Digital skills

These are built into lessons in every area, helping pupils to use and apply their skills in real-life contexts.

Our curriculum is always evolving — just like our learners. We regularly review what we teach to make sure it stays fresh, exciting and right for our school community.
